In 1993, a beloved uncle of mine dying from cancer asked me a question that would change my life forever, “Is this it, I’m born, live, die, and fade out of existence? IS THIS IT?” I was thirty-one years old at the time and in-between careers as I was dealing with my own existential crisis of questioning the life worth living. My response to my uncle came more through me than from me when I said, “You know Uncle Ricky, I have to tell you, if we’re born, live, die, and there is nothing after we die, absolutely NOTHING! Then I’m going to live this life on the beach in the Caribbean, and I’m going to have FUN, FUN, FUN all the way to nothing…but before I do, I better find out.”
My path was set that day. My work reflects what I found.
Over 95% of clients and their families recommend Jonathan Yorks
We are souls having our human experience is a life philosophy I’ve come to accept as a reality of my daily existence. I see my life as Jonathan as a vehicle I have chosen to grow through that contains all the conditions necessary to challenge me to grow. No matter if my conditions are physical, mental, emotional, relational, or otherwise, they are meant to draw out from me my greatest potential. Family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers are souls who have agreed to participate in my growth as I did in theirs. Those who challenge me and feel oppositional to my life are my dearest allies fulfilling their specific roles. When I focus on the intention we had set for their presence in my life, I find meaning for me, value for them, and peace in my heart.
